Kenyans seeking to watch European football giants Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam face off at the newly constructed Raila Odinga International Stadium will pay at least Ksh2,500, the government has announced.
Tickets for the highly anticipated encounter are scheduled to go on sale on Thursday, November 5, at 6pm East African Time through the official Talanta Sports City website talantasportscity.com
In a press statement issued on Thursday, November 5, Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya said tickets would be released in phases across different seating categories, with prices starting at Ksh2,500.
The match, scheduled for January 5, 2027, will coincide with the official inauguration of the Raila Odinga International Stadium at Talanta Sports City in Nairobi.

Mvurya encouraged football enthusiasts to purchase their tickets early, warning that availability in certain seating categories would not be guaranteed during subsequent sales phases.
"We further urge all supporters to purchase tickets exclusively through official channels and make payments only to verified accounts to avoid fraudulent transactions," the Cabinet Secretary stated.
The government also announced that premium hospitality packages and skyboxes would be available for supporters seeking exclusive matchday experiences.
According to Mvurya, the event will extend beyond the football match, featuring a 12-hour fan festival, international entertainment, concierge services and other activities celebrating Kenya's sporting achievements.
"The experience will feature dedicated concierge services, a spectacular 12-hour fan festival, world-class entertainment featuring leading international artists and a series of exciting activities designed to celebrate sporting excellence, honour our sporting heroes and showcase the very best of Kenya to the world," he stated.
Bayern Munich and Ajax Promise First-Team Players
The government has also sought to address concerns over the calibre of players expected to feature in the January encounter.
Mvurya disclosed that both clubs had made written commitments to bring their strongest possible squads, dismissing suggestions that the match could feature retired players or academy prospects.
"Let me be absolutely clear: this will not be a legends match or an academy-team exhibition. Both clubs have committed to presenting their strongest possible first-team line-ups," he stated.
The announcement raises expectations among Kenyan football fans who will have an opportunity to watch players from two of Europe's most decorated clubs compete on local soil. Bayern Munich, based in Germany, and Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam are multiple-time UEFA Champions League winners.
Government Reveals Role of Bayern-Ajax Match in AFCON Preparations
Beyond the stadium's inauguration, the encounter is expected to serve as a major test of Kenya's preparedness to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) alongside Uganda and Tanzania.
Mvurya revealed that he had directed the AFCON 2027 Local Organising Committee to coordinate preparations for the match in collaboration with government agencies, sports stakeholders and private-sector partners.
The exercise will test several critical areas, including stadium operations, security, transportation, hospitality services and crowd management.
According to the Cabinet Secretary, the government intends to use the event to demonstrate Kenya's ability to host major international sporting competitions.
He further confirmed that the match was fully funded through private-sector support, which he said demonstrated growing corporate confidence in Kenya's sports industry.
The government hopes the event will strengthen Kenya's reputation as an international sporting destination while unlocking opportunities in sports tourism and investment.
