Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo will vie for the Nairobi Woman Representative seat in the next General Election, Siaya Governor James Orengo has revealed.
Orengo, a leading figure in the Linda Mwananchi faction associated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, made the announcement on Saturday, June 20, after meeting Odhiambo at his office, in what marks her latest political step following weeks of speculation about her political plans.
In a statement, Orengo praised Odhiambo as a courageous advocate for justice, saying her support for Gen Z demonstrators and peaceful protesters reflected exemplary leadership.
“Faith Odhiambo is a proven defender of justice whose fearless stand for Gen Z and peaceful protestors showed the true meaning of leadership,” Orengo stated.

He noted that her decision to join the Linda Mwananchi movement strengthened the push for women’s leadership, accountability, and people-centred governance.
Orengo also threw his weight behind her Nairobi Woman Representative bid, maintaining that the city needs leaders capable of offering an independent and principled voice in Parliament.
“Her bid for Nairobi Woman Representative comes at the perfect time. Nairobians deserve an incorruptible voice, and Faith is exactly that,” he added.
The declaration puts to rest weeks of speculation surrounding Odhiambo’s political future after her recent alignment with the Linda Mwananchi faction led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
Earlier this month, Odhiambo was officially received into the movement, with Sifuna sharing images of her alongside the coalition’s leadership and campaign team.
Her entry into the contest is likely to alter Nairobi’s political dynamics ahead of the polls, with several aspirants already expressing interest in the coveted seat.
One of those who has publicly declared her intention to run is nominated Senator Tabitha Mutinda, who currently serves as Vice Chairperson of the Senate Finance Committee.
Former Nairobi Woman Representative aspirant Millicent Omanga of the DCP party has also announced her interest in the position after falling short in the 2022 General Election.
Odhiambo gained national recognition during her tenure at the helm of the LSK, where she frequently challenged government policies on constitutionalism, human rights, public debt oversight, and adherence to the rule of law.
She also made headlines in 2024 when she turned down an appointment to President William Ruto’s Public Debt Audit Task Force, arguing that the role duplicated responsibilities already assigned to constitutionally established institutions.
