OPPO has launched two new smartphones in Kenya, with prices starting at Ksh69,999, as the company targets consumers seeking premium designs, advanced cameras and larger batteries.
The OPPO Reno16 5G, retailing at Ksh79,999, and the Reno16 F 5G, priced at Ksh69,999, were unveiled on Monday, October 26, 2026. The launch introduces the latest additions to OPPO's Reno smartphone lineup, with both models featuring 5G connectivity, AMOLED displays and a design inspired by cosmic imagery.
The company has opened pre-orders running until Wednesday, November 4, through OPPO stores, authorised dealers and e-commerce platforms. Customers who pre-order either device during the promotional period will receive OPPO true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, six months of screen protection, a 10,000mAh OPPO power bank and three months of Gemini Pro with 5TB of storage.
The phones will be available in Pop White and Twilight Violet.

New phones feature upgraded cameras and large batteries
According to OPPO's published Kenyan specifications, the Reno16 5G features a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640 by 1216 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
The device runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Its camera system comprises three 50-megapixel rear cameras, including an ultra-wide lens, a main camera with optical image stabilisation and a telephoto camera. The front-facing camera also has a 50-megapixel sensor.
The phone supports 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second and has a 6,700mAh battery with support for 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging.
The Reno16 F 5G, meanwhile, has a larger 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2372 by 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy processor and also comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Unlike the standard Reno16, the F model supports expandable storage.
Its rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The front camera has a 50-megapixel sensor.
The Reno16 F has a 7,000mAh battery and supports 80W SUPERVOOC charging. Both devices run ColorOS 16, based on Android 16. The technical details are listed on OPPO's official Kenyan product pages.
OPPO introduces cosmic-inspired design
Beyond the technical specifications, the company is positioning the Reno16 series around its new 3D Pop Planet Design, which draws inspiration from cosmic visuals and the idea of individuals as distinctive, vibrant planets.
The Pop White version features what OPPO calls HoloVerse 3D Technology, designed to create a floating, nebula-inspired effect that changes with light and movement.
The company says the design uses millions of micro-lenses to reconstruct light in space, making the imagery on the phone's back appear to hover above the surface.
The series also features a one-piece, cold-sculpted back cover that flows into the camera module, creating a seamless appearance while helping reduce dust accumulation around the camera area.
Fredrique Achieng, PR Manager at OPPO Kenya, said the design was intended to give consumers a device that reflects their personal style.
“Design has become an important part of how people express their individuality, and with the Reno16 Series, we wanted to bring that expression to life through a smartphone that stands out,” Achieng said.
She added: “The 3D Pop Planet Design reflects our commitment to combining creativity with thoughtful craftsmanship, giving Kenyan consumers a device that is as distinctive in appearance as it is expressive of their personal style.”
The Reno16 5G is designed for customers who prefer a more compact device that can be used comfortably with one hand, while the Reno16 F 5G offers a larger screen for entertainment and content creation.
With a Ksh10,000 difference between the two models, buyers will have to weigh the standard model's processor and camera configuration against the F model's larger display and battery.
The company has not specified in the launch announcement when general retail sales will begin after the pre-order period.
